About Us!
While my kids don't actively
participate in the creation of web pages, they get almost full credit for
TakeAStroll.com!
I've always been the family photographer, documenting every special
occasion, event and outing with albums full of memories. Even when I
was young I loved snapping pictures at our annual Memorial Day Picnic,
numerous family camping trips and even embarrassing candid shots of my
brother and sisters! But when my kids came along, I should have
bought some serious stock in Kodak! 1st steps, those silly
facial expressions, 1st hair cut, holiday celebrations, school plays,
scouting functions... well, you know! The list goes on and on!
Every roll of film developed required at least 3 copies being printed of
each special (and even not so special) shot so no one would miss out on
anything.
Then my friend Sue introduced me to web pages! WOW... no more huge
developing charges and mailing costs! I started with a one-page
family site showcasing photos of our kids and what was new with us!
I soon had the web page bug! I read cover to cover, Web Pages for
Dummies and other various books. I took a couple of online classes
to learn how to create my own graphics and became an official Paint Shop
Pro addict! Our family site grew into 20+ pages! "It's Tuesday...
need a web page for that!" I created pages displaying my
daughter's artwork, her school awards, her Brownie activities, Halloween
costumes, and more. My Son's 1st birthday was celebrated online with
a page highlighting his favorite foods, toys and activities and a page
with highlight photos from his party. My husband's love of golf was soon
documented with it's own page with links to related sites, golf jokes, and
photos. The kids each had guestbook's on their sites and I faithfully
read all notes left to them.
I was soon being asked to create pages for some of these same friends and
family! I loved creating a special, personalized web site to
celebrate their occasions! I created online celebrations for
weddings, new babies, birthdays and family updates. When I started
being asked to make them for friends of friends I thought this might be
something other people may appreciate having done for them and
TakeAStroll.com was born!
After targeting baby themed web pages (my personal favorite!), I
began adding complimentary baby gifts! Artists and vendors
started to find ME, asking that I carry their product. I'm so
thankful that such talented folks have allowed me to feature their
items. I strive to bring
visitors gifts that are personalized, unique and one-of-a-kind. I look
forward to continuing to grow the business and expanding the
selection!
